AeroVacanțe, part of the Aerotravel group, is betting in 2024 on new destinations, more accessible for Romanians, as a result of the growing demand for holidays in new destinations untouched by mass tourism. Thus, the agency introduces for this summer 14 charter flights to Lesbos, the third largest island in Greece, where the costs of a stay are up to 20% lower than similar packages in other Greek islands.
"Romanians travel more than ever and want to experience destinations they have not been to before, but at the same time somehow familiar, such as Greece. In the first months of 2024, customers' desire to experience new and authentic destinations has increased by around 25% compared to the same period last year. This trend reflects the aspiration of Romanian tourists to discover interesting places and live authentic experiences - an inspired means of escaping from the daily routine.
Constantly receiving questions and requests for such vacations, we decided to add to our portfolio plane charter stays in the Greek island of Lesbos, which is only an hour and 20 minutes flight from Bucharest. It is a new destination for most Romanians, but I am convinced that all those who love Greece will feel at home in Lesbos.
With this new product, we respond to tourists' expectation to enjoy a comfortable, affordable, and experiential vacation, at the same time supporting the growth of the organizing agency AeroVacance and, implicitly, the volume of sales in the leisure tourism segment”, says Antonio Nițu, General Manager of the Aerotravel Group.
Charter flights to the island of Lesvos are operated every Friday from Bucharest, from 14 June to 13 September 2024. Stays in the island of Lesvos have rates starting from 289 euros/person and include charter plane transport, airport taxes, transfers, local tourist assistance and 7 nights accommodation. Thus, stays in Lesvos are up to 20% cheaper than similar stays in other Greek islands. Charter flights are operated by the TAROM company and last one hour and 20 minutes.
"Lesbos is a destination that preserves its authenticity, offering tourists very good facilities, delightful landscapes, a culinary art full of flavors, a relaxed atmosphere and, last but not least, very good beaches.
Here, no less than 19 beaches are Blue Flag certified. The most important of these are located near the accommodation spaces in the AeroVacanțe portfolio, to offer increased comfort to tourists", says Antonio Nițu, General Director of the Aerotravel Group, which also includes the organizing agency AeroVacanțe.
In Lesbos, tourists have various accommodation possibilities, from tourist villas with very attractive rates, located near beaches, taverns, shops, and bus stations, to 4-star and 5-star hotels with breakfast or half board and excellent service. A 7-night stay with breakfast at a 5-star hotel, with air charter transport, airport taxes and tourist assistance included, has rates starting at 484 euros/person.
